GROUP DESCRIPTION

Creative Builders is a hands-on club for children who love to imagine, design, and create. Campers will explore LEGO building, open-ended crafts using loose parts, and creative projects that encourage problem-solving and innovation. Through collaborative activities, children will practice sharing ideas, working alongside peers, and bringing their imagination to life in a fun, supportive group environment.

Some children may require 1:1 support (additional cost) if they:

• Display behaviours that may pose a safety concern for themselves or others

• Children who have difficulty following adult directions in a group setting
• Children who are likely to leave the group area without supervision (elopement) and require closer supervision 

• Children who enjoy building, crafting, and creative play 
• Children who benefit from structured opportunities to use imagination in a guided setting 
• Those who are developing social skills such as sharing, perspective taking, and cooperation 
• Children who may need support engaging with peers in group activities 
• Kids who enjoy LEGO, loose parts, and hands-on creative projects 
• Those who benefit from practicing flexible thinking and problem-solving 
• Children who do well with step-by-step tasks and visual or model-based learning 
• Kids who enjoy working both independently and as part of a small group 
• Children who are building confidence in expressing ideas and creativity in a group setting

The group is supervised by a Behaviour Consultant (BCBA) and implemented by trained Behaviour Interventionists (BIs). Sessions are structured, play-based, and designed to support creativity, construction skills, and social development through hands-on, imagination-based activities.

Children participate in small groups to allow for individualized support, with LEGO, craft projects, and loose parts activities broken down into manageable steps and taught using prompting, modeling, and children’s interests. Skills are practiced through guided building challenges, creative stations, collaborative projects, and structured play opportunities, with repeated practice to support skill development, problem-solving, and peer interaction.
